I found the source of the current draw. After unplugging everything related to the blower controls and still having the draw, I started following wires under the dash. I found a random power and ground spliced into the factory harness. Followed that up to a gps unit zip tied to the harness with...
The cluster is giving me issues. I have to knock on it a few times when starting the vehicle to get the light to come on and most of the gauges to work. The mph is stuck at 30 now. But even with the cluster unplugged I still had the 085 mA draw. I’m already pursuing either getting the cluster...
2004 Yukon XL keeps killing my battery.
Bought a new battery because the one in it was 5 years old and was weak starting. I rarely drive the vehicle but after buying the new one, it died on me a couple times. I charged it and it kept dying. Had the alternator tested and it was reading “good”...
So I was able to drop my oil pan and I'm pretty sure I found the source of the low oil pressure. The pick up tube screen was completely covered with gunk. The bottom of the oil pan was full of sludge. My pick up tube o-ring seemed in pretty good shape but obviously I replaced it anyway. Cleaned...
So I added extra oil. It's just below the 1 on the dip stick (picture for reference). My oil pressure on a cold start up sits about 20. I never really paid attention to where it sat before I lost pressure. So I took it around the block to see if it would go up under load, around 4k RPM I can get...
So my first oil change when I bought it I cheaped out and put an STP on it. When I got the oil changed the second time I put a Mobil 1 on it. Between that and the Lucas stabilizer it didn’t really help much. When I change it again I’ll look for a Bosch or Wix. Only reason for me not changing the...
Yea I didn't plan to drive it like that. I'll try to pick up some oil tomorrow and try it out. My drive way does have a little incline to it so hopefully backing it in is enough to cover that o-ring.
Thanks for help. I don't think its the sensor since the dash gauge and tester gauge are pretty similar. I think I'll try the extra oil and see if that makes a difference.
I have a 2004 Yukon XL 269,*** miles I bought about two weeks ago. I changed the oil right after getting it. Filled to the second line from the top. Drove for about a week around town to make sure everything was ok with it and it ran fine. Took a 6 our trip to Tennessee, about 5 1/2 hours in I...
