That is 100% the issue with faulty lifters and pushrods that I dealt with on my 2021 Tahoe Premier last summer. It seemed to be a cold start issue at first. That’s pretty much spot on. No extended warranty secured yet. I have seen that some on here have been offered that. At the moment, though, GM has been ghosting me going on 3 weeks. That’s okay though….the documentation of their non-responsiveness builds….- DangIt

Sold my new tahoe
It’s not a bad engine. The engine has been around for 3 years. It’s a bad batch of lifters. If your build date was within 10/2020 and 3/31/21, you MAY be impacted. Before or after that, GM used different lifters that supposedly don’t fail. Time will tell.- DangIt

There is actually a technical bulletin update that now has the service techs replacing both sets of lifters. I had only 2 fail on the same side at 7068 miles, and they replaced both sides no questions. Waiting on my rig to start knocking again, though loving it again in the meantime while it...- DangIt

They’re not going to issue a recall, because as you can see, they don’t have the parts available to fix the vehicles that ARE breaking down, so they definitely don’t have the parts to fix all the vehicles by that were built with faulty lifters proactively.
