Been a little over a week since i spent 26 minutes (took me 2 minutes to find the bolt I dropped in the rocks) swapping out all 8 coils with my $108 set from Amazon and guess what...... Not a single hiccup so far. I installed a new catch can, I bought a cheap one, emptied it once and couldn't...
Whatever you do….. Don’t get a job as a videographer. From experience it’s a bad lifter. Bring it and get it fixed before it does more damage. TRUST ME! It can quickly increase the cost if your cam gets damaged like mine did.
The response they gave was more than enough for me to see what was happening. Not even gonna waste my time. Come to think about it, even if they did offer to replace 1, it would still cost more than the set I purchased today. It can sit until the new ones get here even though it doesn’t have to...
Sorry for the misunderstanding. I Replaced them once already. Not recently. Cleaned them MAF and MAP as well. Stealership was last stop. I exhaust all my knowledge and abilities before farming stuff out. I didn’t put those stupid plastic covers back on that cover the coils and plug wires when I...
I’m hoping they checked the throttle body. I took it off, cleaned it and did an IAC relearn the other day trying to solve the issue .Yep, they said to replace all 8. I haven’t replaced them yet. New coils should be here in a few days. Hoping it goes away, if not I’ll find somewhere else to...
He noted a hesitation after the spark plug swap even though the misfire condition went away with the fix. They didn’t even offer the option to replace 1. I can say that I did still feel the hesitation. $108 is an easy and SHIT TON cheaper way for me to find out if it is indeed a faulty coil...
The dealership just called. Yuk was in for a fouled plug that they had recently replaced and bad motor mounts (which I would not attempt on my own$1081.00) They said they took it for a run and said he noted a slight hesitation and that it needs A coil replaced then told me….. Are you ready…...
I agree, check your motor mounts. I had the top end rebuilt recently because of a failed lifter. Started to shudder and vibrate Friday. dropped it back a dealer yesterday. turns out it was a fouled plug and bad mounts. The mounts aren't an easy replacement from what I've seen so I'm just having...
I know this is a rudimentary suggestion but recheck the connection at the solenoid. Might not be making a good connection. Does the pressure drop low at idle? Did you go with a stock pump or the Melling 10296? It gives a little bit more volume at idle. Might want to give that a try if all else...
HOLY CRAP?!? Do they SERIOUSLY want to charge $588 in LABOR for plugs and wires? Am I reading that wrong?
If you haven’t ACTUALLY taken possession and they say it NEEDS all these repairs you best roll your happy ass back up there and have them fix all that. BEFORE you drive away.
WELCOME to one the most helpful and informational places you could possibly find for the Yukon…..
What I’m hearing is “Let me get you in touch with our sales manager” type scenario…. DON’T BITE……
FIRST AND FOREMOST…Do you plan on keeping it for a while? If yes… see below… If no…. “ Let me get...
Welcome!!! Both of those repairs, although they MAY seem tough, really aren’t. Like people above mentioned… YOUTUBE is your friend. I usually watch 1AAuto or TRQ videos. They even list the tools you’ll need. If you e got air tools it’s a LOT EASIER, but manageable with hand tools unless your...
Alternator/ Belt/ Tensioner. These alternators have been known to seize up so hard that people mistake it for a seized engine because they can’t turn the engine by hand.
I agree with BMP 100000% I had the exact same issue about a month ago. On the advice of the Blackbear team, I pulled the throttle body, cleaned it and while at it installed a catch can. Then did a relearn and it fixed the problem.
Finally got my printed bill….. if you blow a lifter and gouge the cam…….yeah…. It sucked… Went with Blackbear for the DOD delete and a tune. Installed a catch can and also installed the Trans cooler Bypass. That was super simple and dropped the temp by over 40 degrees.
I’m still waiting for a printed work order. I have to call today to see if they finally have access back to CDK. I’ve read that it could months for some places to recover. Thanks for all the info guys. Every little bit helps me better understand the issues we face owning these things.
