Lifter Issues on ‘21s Being Delivered to Dealers

Okay. Using your "affected 2021s" that they are supposedly addressing, wouldn't it be nice if they would share their obviously secret method for determining which are "affected 2021s"???? VIN? Engine build date? Assembly plant? Faulty lot of parts? What is the key to determining what "affected...

Lifter Issues on ‘21s Being Delivered to Dealers

Exactly. If ALL of the units being shipped now require both banks of lifters to be replaced before they are worthy of sale to the public then they need to step up and do a recall and replace ALL lifters on all units already sold instead of waiting on each owner with a bad set of lifters to get...

Which build months are safe from lifter problems?

The 6.2 I believe may require higher octane. The 5.3 only requires 87.

Lifter Issues on ‘21s Being Delivered to Dealers

I bought my Tahoe in NC on April 28. It was assembled on April 1 in Texas. I really doubt that nearly 8 months later that pre April Units are still being shipped out. The GM release does not specify assembly dates.

Lifter Issues on ‘21s Being Delivered to Dealers

I was ready to continue on with my Tahoe until today’s GM vote of no confidence on the lifters installed on vehicles just being delivered to dealers. When they say they are not willing to sell newly assembled units to consumers without first replacing both banks of lifters what does that tell...

Lifter Issues on ‘21s Being Delivered to Dealers

The replacement of lifters on units being delivered to dealers before they sell them was the last straw for me. My 2021 Tahoe was built on April 1, 2021 and was supposedly after the "bad lifters" batch was depleted. Apparently this was a load of BS since there are still problems. My dealer...

TPMS not accurate. How to recalibrate???

My 2021 Tahoe RST tire pressure monitoring system ls not accurate. It reads about 3 to 4 psi less than actual pressure measured with 3 different gauges. The 3 gauges are all within one half psi of each other. All 4 tires are off by the same 3 to 4 psi. Is there a way I can recalibrate this...

Which build months are safe from lifter problems?

Okay. Thanks for clarifying. Been trouble free so far with about 4k on it. Drove it from NC to Boston and back and it was great. I got a hand calculated 24.7 mpg on the interstate on about 2000 mile round trip. That is hard to believe on a vehicle this size. Hopefully the DFM system continues...

Which build months are safe from lifter problems?

Thank you, sir. Looks like mine was built on 04/21. They didn't waste any time as it arrived in North Carolina on the 28th.

Which build months are safe from lifter problems?

Looking for build date on door jamb/door stickers. All I see is the tire inflation sticker and the trailer towing capacities on the 2 stickers on the driver's side door jamb. On the door itself is the small round sticker saying it was built in Arlington. There is no sign of a date on any of the...
