I've been waiting since the last spring for my chips to arrive. My dealer says that GM has plenty of chips but that they are all being allocated for new vehicle production. GM doesn't want any new vehicle deliveries without all the chips in place. I was originally told that they would be in...
Traded in my 2021 Z71 with 47K miles on it and got $65K for it. This was a few months back when there was a real shortage of inventory. The dealer sold it for $82K.
I have a 2000 Yukon and the red warning lights on the dash for the Brakes, ABS, and Airbags come on randomly. Sometimes no lights are on, sometimes it's the Brake and ABS lights, sometimes it's the Airbag light, and at other times it's all three at the same time. I'm assuming that it's an...
I had a '96 Yukon and when I bought my 2000 Yukon it was a completely different body style. If I recall correctly, that was the first year of that body style (Gen 2) and it stayed around for about six or seven years until the third generation came out.
Ok - I will replace the front sway bar bushing and end links as the next project. Then I will replace the rear sway bar bushings and the rear Jounce Stops. I'll also start shopping around on pricing for four replacement springs.
UPDATE - I replaced the two missing front Jounce Stops and that seems to have fixed the wobble problem. I am sure that when I replace the two worn rear Jounce Stops that will improve things even more. Question, do coil springs wear out and need replacing like shocks?
Photos of the rear suspension area. It appears that the two jounce stops are there but probably not in the best condition. It appears that I might be able to install the front ones fairly easily if I knew where to properly place a floor jack to create the needed space to slide the new ones in.
So, I have attached four photos - two of the left-side front end and two of the right-side. It appears that I have no jounce stops at all on either side but I will let you look at the photos to verify. I have also taken photos of the sway bar links and bushing, and the control bar arm area of...
I had them inspect the entire front end and let me know what was worn out and needed replacing. Here is what they did:
1. replace both lower ball joints
2. replaced right outer tie rod end
3. replaced Pittman Arm
4. Replaced Idler Arm and bracket
5. Removed all other front end parts...
My 2000 GMC Yukon has 254,000 miles. I just had the front end totally rebuilt, and at 173,000 miles I had the front and rear shocks replaced with factory parts - rear shocks are self-leveling air shocks. When i drive down the highway the Yukon handles great on a smooth road. However, the...
My Tahoe is getting ready to hit 36,000 miles and I wonder if any special maintenance is needed? All that has been done up to now is the oil being changed and tires rotated when the Oil Life display gets down to about 10%. Also, all the recalls have been performed whenever they come up during...
