The Most Reliable Duramax Diesel Engines ...

Lots of FUD around the diesel engines being spread online. Like CTown said they are everywhere in Europe. We live in amazing times: diesels are clean, efficient and overall very reliable, even with all the tacked on emissions equipment. Nothing like the diesel engines from yesteryear. These...

Congrats! Although that M8 comp looks more fun to me.

    GM SUVS as limos

Reliability probably plays a role, even if just perceived and not actual. If a larger company, it’s easier to maintain a fleet of same vehicles. Also resale value may be a factor. In some of these circles it’s often whatever the other guy drives, the next guy will get. GM has been king in this...

The engine on the Yukon I got as a replacement for the Yukon that got two engine replacements needs replaced. Yes, you read that correctly.

I feel you, 4 small children here. I’m sure you considered but you can always add a roof box for additional storage. Every time we take our X7 for longer trips I’m amazed how much we are able to squeeze in… the new Sequoia seems pretty sweet if you’re into Japanese.. or GX/LX Lexus…

The engine on the Yukon I got as a replacement for the Yukon that got two engine replacements needs replaced. Yes, you read that correctly.

It seems the rampant lifter failure was isolated mostly to 21-23 MY, at least based on the forum posts here. But whoa, what are the odds of 3 brand new engine failures in a row! This cant be other than just pure bad luck or these vehicles would all be sitting on the side of the road. I second to...

    Overflowed Diesel Tank???

Nothing unique about the diesel tank that makes it overflow more easily. Must’ve not been all the way or trying to pump at awkward angle. I’ve owned (gas) vehicles that would make the pump “cut-off”, sometimes multiple times and with every fill up. Likely because of a combination of particular...

2021 Suburban LM2 reliability sob story

That’s very generous considering you were able to drive for 80k miles after the first issue. We had a Ford lemon that was practically undrivable the entire time we were going through the lemon law. It took about a year to get rid of it and we weren’t able to put any miles on it while all of that...

    Quality Control

Sorry ya’ll have to deal with all the issues. This is why I buy my Chevys as base models only lol. If they kinda suck, I don’t feel bad about keeping them. Funny our LS diesel has been actually pretty solid put together, at least so far. Still have a fully loaded X7 for “real” luxury.. that...

Anyone uses PIAA wipers on 2021+? What model # of PIAA fit 21+?

Interesting to find out OEMs are Bosch. I immediately replace any wipers with Bosch Icons on any new vehicle recently. Did same with the Suburban, assuming whatever came on it was bottom of the barrel China made stuff. Maybe next time I’ll try the OEMs.

    BMW 530d

You are not seriously comparing Germany to Russia are you? I’m sure it’s better now but even in early/mid 2000’s going 10-100km outside cities, infrastructure was non existent. Unless you are driving Moscow - St. Petersburg, where else can you travel 600km in 4 hours??

Jeep Grand Wagoneer | color me impressed

At a $5k delta, the X7 would be a no brainer, however (and maybe I’m the one out of touch here) but how in the hell is a grand wagoneer priced within $5k of an M60i?? Unless you need more space in/behind the 3rd row, the X7 would obliterate the GW in pretty much every metric. If you want...

Coming from Navigator...what should I buy? Denali Ultimate vs escalade??

Luxury anything and low depreciation doesn’t exist unfortunately. If you want the lowest depreciation on a GM SUV you may need to look at a base model Suburban… your wife will likely disapprove so that extra 40k remember you’re spending on her ☺️

    21+ Tahoe LED Tail Lights

Lol. I wouldn’t wait just for the LED tail lights. A refresh is probably safer than a brand new model but I would also prefer to wait for 2nd/3rd MY for the bugs to be worked out. Why not get a 23/24 now, enjoy it and trade for a 26/27 if the changes are sooo worth it. Who knows how long it...

Warranty may be denied if you take it to the dealer for an electrical issue WITHOUT removing the harness however why would you risk it and not just remove the harness??

    2022 suburban LS screen upgrade

It’s pretty lame if you think about it GM put the 10” in the 2021 LS models and then decided to downgrade for MY22 onward (likely coz they needed to rid of a pallet of these 8” screens). I personally didn’t know about the smaller screen until after I already ordered my truck (assuming it was...

    2022 suburban LS screen upgrade

Didn’t the 21 MY have the same radio (IOR?) with the larger 10” display? That’s why I had hopes this could be figured out eventually. It’s also possible that MY22-24 changed over to a different screen / part no due to most models going over to Android Auto based infotainment.

    2022 suburban LS screen upgrade

Please do report back Yes, unfortunately that’s how all the OEMs are evolving. Even relatively small upgrades or repairs are very difficult or not possible at all anymore due to the “software lock”. I’m still hopeful someone will figure it out. Its the only thing that bothers me on our LS. Not...

    DEF level sensor issue

Well, at least good to hear mines not an anomaly. @Stbentoak I assume yours is a 21? I wonder if that has something to do with it or the programming. Would be nice to get more data points from other forum members.

    DEF level sensor issue

What’s your MY? Mine is a 22 produced in May of 2022. Demonworks on YouTube who has owned every MY duramax pickup so far (20-23) said that the newer ones drank more DEF, especially the LZ0’s but I wonder if GM changed anything in the programming along the way and that later built LM2’s drink...

    DEF level sensor issue

Dealer filled the DEF tank full at delivery (at least according to board computer). Filled 3x 2.5 gallon jugs and now at 50% after 11k miles and two oil changes. So basically 1 gallon of DEF per ~1,000 miles. Not towing either.

What makes you think that this is the last year? Got a source? All articles so far from sources like GMauthority say the LZ0 will replace the LM2 diesel with the refresh…
