excessive gap between hood and grill, 2013 Yukon

...a Tech-2? - nope (what's a cubit?), never heard of one, but after looking it up that looks to be a fairly good diagnostic device for those like me that would much rather tune a carburetor by ear than tune EFI by a laptop. Thanks - I'll likely grab one

excessive gap between hood and grill, 2013 Yukon

yep it's a 'gentle giant'. Funny you mention the trim - we think it came without it, and we actually do want to install it. Finding nice body-colored NOS pieces might be fun - maybe I'll try the dealers...

excessive gap between hood and grill, 2013 Yukon

we got it - flew to Montana and drove it back to Colorado. Drives perfectly, and made the 12-hour trip home through extreme winter conditions with ease, including an unexpected closure of I25 (and overnight stay) at Douglas Wyoming. Got about 14-15 mpg doing 80 mph most of the way, and blasted...

excessive gap between hood and grill, 2013 Yukon

Thanks - I half expected someone to say it's priced too high, but maybe it isn't too far out of current pricing then eh? From what we're seeing $29,900 is on the upper end of the range but it does seem to be within range...

excessive gap between hood and grill, 2013 Yukon

we we're actually looking at Denali's pretty hard, but the one we wanted had a mysterious 'miss' at idle (no codes), and after researching we came across the dreaded AFM/DOD lifter shenanigans and decided we didn't want any part of that - wondering if the lifters are already bad, disabling the...

excessive gap between hood and grill, 2013 Yukon

thanks for the quick reply and thoughts - we'll make the trek to have an in-person look :) . Prices sure are up compared to about a year ago but oh well - family is getting bigger and the minivan's gotta go...

excessive gap between hood and grill, 2013 Yukon

Hello all. Looking at a nice 2013 Yukon. It appears to have an 'above-average' (?) gap between the hood and grill, and I'm just looking for feedback about this front clip compared to all others. Scanning google pics there seem to be gaps on many - not sure if this one is bigger, and what that...

    Stumble/Hesitation AND stalling continuation thread

I was going to test-drive the Denali again, drop it in manual mode and see if the idle miss goes away, but I read that V4 mode/AFM does not happen at idle. Add all the negative reviews about the AFM/DOD systems being basically a situation of 'not if, but when', so we're bailing on this Denali...

    Stumble/Hesitation AND stalling continuation thread

here's another question. 2013 Yukon XL 2500 (6.0) - AFM?, or not? I've read the iron block 6.0's do not have it. Can anyone confirm that?

    Stumble/Hesitation AND stalling continuation thread

Lemme ask this - if the issue for the 'bouncing idle' is 'bad lifter(s) as a result of the AFM/DOD systems' (and I'm not saying it is), if I find a Yukon that idles perfect and does not have the misfire, and if I were to upload the software to disable the AFM/DOD systems, would the possibility...

    Stumble/Hesitation AND stalling continuation thread

well, ok, but I still have not read which specific causes are 'actually' causing this exact problem; after reading every related thread I still have not seen conclusive 'this was it - and this is what fixed it' solutions. This idle 'stumble/miss' we're having is very slight, averaging about 1...

We are having this exact issue with a 2013 Yukon XL Denali (6.2) we're looking at - currently have it on a 24hr test drive. I'm very interested in any follow-up thoughts about the root cause. - Sam

Rear cargo hooks - bolting through the rear floor?

...initially they'll be used as car seat anchors/tethers (the d-side seat has one but it's not centered, and there isn't one on the p-side, and we need both), but then when big enough hauling the family, lots of stacked gear, and the crawler (02 Dakota on 40s) out to the boonies, often with...

Rear cargo hooks - bolting through the rear floor?

Howdy folks. Name is Sam - wife and I are looking at a 2013 Yukon XL Denali, but before we pull the trigger we're wanting to know more about what is 'under' the rear cargo area (behind the 3rd row seat) besides the spare tire? We're wanting to haul a bunch of gear, and we're going to need...
