Make no assumptions. Request that it be done. Also, get yourself a tune from Black Bear Performance.
I went with this TBV as I feel it’s better than the flip the pill solution.

After 8,000 miles I conducted the first transmission service. I wanted to do it sooner but life wouldn’t let me. Lol.
Here’s some pictures of what the fluid looks like after 8,000 miles on the new rebuild. Looks pretty typical to me. I use the Penzoil LV multi-vehicle ATF Full synthetic fluid.
I never messed with any of the rear AC components. I only replaced the front Condenser and Compressor as I saw leaks (dye) coming from both. After that I vacuumed the system in which it had held a successful vacuum.
I’ll take a look at the rear AC evap and check that out first. Thank you...
Howdy all. I’ve got a 2016 Suburban. Last year I replaced the AC Condenser and Compressor due to my entire AC system not blowing cold air. I recharged it all properly and AC was working great. Now just the rear vents will not blow cold air.
Where should I look for this issue? Just...
Alright.
I didn’t want to leave this post without any conclusions. Last week I got a base tune from BBP. Which made big improvements. The shudders and TCC slip are almost nonexistent. It appears the more I drive the better it’s getting. So not sure if the transmission is still learning or...
@mikeyss
That’s unfortunate. Did you happen to ever run that Circle D converter without a Black bear tune? If so, I’m curious if you had the same issue in having with the a slight shudder and converter not locking up when it should.
Thanks!
I just got ahold of Black Bear. Waiting to hear back from Justin who I think is the Tuner, in regards to my issues. I want make sure 110% a tune will fix this.
Makes sense.
Just sucks because I have already spent money for a Diablew tune. I dont think Lew can adjust (waiting email confirmation) the needed parameters to fix this.
So now I need to decide if I want to invest in HP tuners or rip out the Circle D and go with a more factory like Converter.
I just got off the phone with Circle D. They said the problem is with the TCM tune. They mentioned the TC needs more PSI than what a stock converter requires. Does that make sense to anybody?
Well the test driving didn’t go as planned. I put on about 50 miles of testing. It appears the converter is having an issue. It acts like it doesn’t want to stay locked up. It has shuddering and what feels like slight slippage. This occurs in all the gears and at any speed. I will be ripping it...
@NickTransmissions
Test driving after getting it all together. When cruising at 60mph in 6th gear, The RPMs seem to pulse slightly on the tach. In your mind, Would that indicate a converter problem?
Thanks.
That’s something I’m going to figure out. My plan is to install the trans, load the Diablew tune and then trigger the fast adapt relearn before the first test drive. My father in law has something similar to those Autel diagnostic tool scanners.
You have any insight on any specific way to...
Yes it smelled burnt. Not sure why it went out all of a sudden. I was just cruising at 60MPH and it started shuddering and slipping. No warning or anything.
This Wednesday. Installing my rebuilt 6L80 and Circle D converter 1800-2000 stall with Penzoil Platinum full synthetic LV ATF.
The builder said my 4-5-6 clutch was smoked and there was slight scoring on the pump. He rebuilt the trans, gave me a new pump and installed some Sonnax upgrades that...
