    6.2L Engine Wait Times...

For what it's worth. I was in line at the GMC Parts Counter today, Jan 24th, (Conley GMC Bradenton Florida) and the guy in front of me was asking "When is his replacement 6.2 engine going to come in?" Th parts guys replied: "I got two ahead of you. Best I can say is about 8 months".

2022 AT4 Yukon XL New Tire Suggestions *32k miles*

I live in Florida and have run Michelin Defender M+S on my last three Yukons. Quiet on the highway. NO snow but man will they evacuate water on a bad draining Florida highway in a downpour. Never had a flat or leak. Swear by them. (Put the blackwall out :) )

2020 Yukon SLT - Standard Hitch for Short Hauls Okay?

Based on your experience I should be safe. Thanks. It isn't highway with wind, mountains, or need to pass. I'll recheck the tongue weight and watch for sag or rubbing. Thanks again. Feel much better.

2020 Yukon SLT - Standard Hitch for Short Hauls Okay?

I go about 45mph on the two lane. Most of the weight is behind the 2nd trailer axle. (inboard V-8 with 140 gallons of fuel). Thanks for your thoughts, it is reassuring I don't have to get too exotic for that short of a distance.

2020 Yukon SLT - Standard Hitch for Short Hauls Okay?

Great input. Thanks. I think the tongue weight is 400-450. It is a V-8 inboard with gas tanks far aft so most of the weight is back there. I go about 45MPH from the barn on two lane. The Yukon is a stock SLT 5.3 (3:08 Rear) so nothing extra for cooling or leveling. I will be hooking it up soon...

2020 Yukon SLT - Standard Hitch for Short Hauls Okay?

Hi - Forum Members have been a great resource for me with my 96 Yukon, then my 2006 Denali, and now my 2020 Yukon SLT. Based on the help I got I was confident enough ditch the Lexus GX today and get back into a Yukon (and convince my wife!) - so many many thanks. I am done with highway and...

Buying a 2020 Yukon with L83 5.3L EcoTec - Should I worry about AFM Lifter Failure

Thanks for the advice. The rustproofing is a great idea. I will certainly do it as we run it up to Michigan once or twice a year. I forgot you could still do that to a used car. I wetn over the underbody and it is really clean - some of the stickers are still white. Thanks again.

Buying a 2020 Yukon with L83 5.3L EcoTec - Should I worry about AFM Lifter Failure

Thanks for the responses. I made the deal today 2020 Yukon SLT with 36K (Florida) miles. The Carfax showed that Hertz sold it at 21K - right about when Travel and Covid shutdown at April 2022. (I read they really downsized their fleet that time). It was a private local owner for the next 15K and...

Buying a 2020 Yukon with L83 5.3L EcoTec - Should I worry about AFM Lifter Failure

Thanks for all the input. I feel better about the AFM issue now. Maybe 2020 is a good sweet spot if I heed the advice on maintenance and driving style. Carfax shows is had regular oild changes about at 6K intervals. It also shows it was a Hertz vehicle I think ("Fleet" on window sticker and...

Buying a 2020 Yukon with L83 5.3L EcoTec - Should I worry about AFM Lifter Failure

Hi Everyone: Have a deposit on a used 2020 Yukon SLT and just discovered the AFM Lifter Issue online. I cannot figure out if the Service Builletins include the 2020 year or just 2021 L82. Lot's of stories about older Sierras and Silverados but can't narrow it down. Should I back out and look for...

Rhythmic Scraping Rubbing Noise in Front End (AWD 06 Denali)

Thanks. If I see problems in the front diff fluid - any idea what front diff work might cost? Perhaps Inner and Outer Bearings? If it was being worked on would the prudent move be to replace the CV joints and 1/2 shafts as well? (Part cost on those seem manageable). Many thanks for the insight...

Rhythmic Scraping Rubbing Noise in Front End (AWD 06 Denali)

Thanks. I had the fluid changed a year ago but it is worth looking at that again. Makes sense that it might be audible when coasting at 35-50mph. M

Rhythmic Scraping Rubbing Noise in Front End (AWD 06 Denali)

Hello Forum: I have a 06 Yukon Denali AWD 6.0 Litre. The last 10K miles I have been experiencing a rhythmic sound from the front end. Mostly I hear it at 30-40 Mph coasting to a stop (engine not under load) and also if I put it in neutral and coast along. It is like a light scraping or metalic...

Stick with OEM Starter as Replacement?

Hi: Ive read all the threads on starter longevity - very helpful. I was thinking about replacing the starter and/or fuel pump as preventative maintenance on my 06 Denali that has 150K on the clock. No issues other that worrying about getting stuck far from home a trusted mechanics as I run my...
