00 yukon xl - ABS kicks on @ low speed?

Posting for a friend who has a 2000 Yukon XL SLT.

I've done a search here and couldn't find any posts about this here... although it seems easy enough to find other people having issues with this on google:

This usually happens during low speed stops, say <5mph. No light comes on, but you can feel the ABS kick in.

What's this about? Anyone know what needs to be done to fix it?

It's usually caused by faulty abs sensors at the front wheel hubs. First you should look for dirt residues on them and check the wires. I've heard about many cases where they were manky so that they don't deliver a correct wheel speed signal to the control unit anymore. This usually happens at low speed and without received a wheel speed signal it assumes blocking wheels and causes the abs kicking in...
