Ordered in all new upper and lower control arms for my Z71 an noticed the new one have different shock mounts. I'm thinking this might cause me some problems. My thoughts...

A - I could return them an then have to deal with trying to find the right bushing to press in
OR

B - Make an adapter....measure...cut...weird...hammer...bleed...cuss, in no specific order

sorry about the pic wasn't sideways when i took it

another option

Another option I thought of today is simple drill a hole though the top of my shock mount (and hope it doesn't eventually collapse) for the new shocks i'll have to buy to replace the 2 month old ones i have

here's a pic of shock type i'm having to change to

I was looking for some UCA's recently for my 04 kon XL. Looking at Rockauto, i noticed that there are a lot of options. So much, that i got headaches.
Maybe you just have the wrong Part #. Don't know where you bought yours, but you should try to exchange them for the correct ones.
I can't believe that GM parts just become obsolete with as many SUV's that where sold. I have issues getting a simple Bump stop from GM. Now you have problems with an simple UCA for an Z71. If this becomes an pattern, ill sell my kon and buy a squeaking expedition. At least i get the parts i need and be able to fix it without ordering 3 times the same wrong item. Hope all works out and becomes a simple Fix.

Free bump for You.

Just looking at it again. This Arm looks heavy-duty. Are you sure you Ordered the UPPER and not the LOWER. ?
Can someone with more experience have a look please and chime in.? It Looks Like the Lower.!

Unfortunately Maic i don't have a simple year model. It's a 2000 but old body style so i often have to specify old body style when asking about parts.

These control arm are forged an not stamped like the originals which i haven't found anywhere, so they are much heavier. Not Rockauto, Partsgeek, Jegs or Summit have the OEM style for my special hoe.

I have the same bumb stop problem...mine are basically gone an I haven't gone looking to hard to find new ones

Here's my upper, for reference

I just realized i didn't put a pic of the upper in my original post

FAIL, didn't work out. Lowers are for sale if anyone in the DFW area wants them. $50 a side were installed but never driven on. they are for a 2000 none Z71 model tahoe

Those arms are the NBS arms...not yours. I'd use 98 as a reference year so you don't get parts from crossover years.

yep, better design with open access to the swaybar endlink bolts, much beefier but they changed the key size and orientation. Also changed shock type and has slightly smaller diameter ball joint shafts
