Hi,
I searched the forum and found nothing similar to my friend's problem. My friend has an 01 GMC Yukon V8. According to him, he was driving normally and he hit the brakes hard because it turned yellow. After that, the engine started struggling at low engine load like while pressing the brakes and slowing down, the Yukon would jerk as if it's about to stall. He was able to make it to work. When he was leaving for work, he tried to start the car and the first time, it didnt start. The second time, it started, but it quickly died down.
We tried starting it again tonight and this time, the Yukon wouldn't start at all. The engine cranks, but doesn't start as if no gas, but the tank is half full. Also, worth to mention that the weather was pretty cold, around low 60s, high 50s. I checked the diagnostic and gave me P0171 and P0174. So I decided to go on the forum to see what's wrong with it, and I couldn't find anything concrete. Some says O2 sensor, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't cause the engine not to start. It's hard to test for any leaks since the engine is not running.
Anyone got ideas?
Thank you!
