My 02 has rear air and it blows cold. But the front is warm. Now that points to the blend door correct? Can that be tested? also the hose up to the orfice tube is warm and its ice cold after. Is that normal? My batt died a week ago and its been hit or miss since.

Could be your expansion valve is clogged with dirt.

Mine did the same thing but it was my a/c evaporator. Its in the hvac case behind the dashboard against the firewall and a complete pain to get to in the truck and in the engine compartment. Have someone use a refrigerant sniffer to the passenger vents to diagnose it as the culprit. If so it will beep like crazy. If not, then it may be an actuator, which unfortunately, are on the same HVAC case that holds the heater core and evaporator
