I have been going back and forth for quite a while on what I would like to do with my Yukon. I have had aftermarket stereos in all of my cars so this stock crap isn't cutting it. I can't believe how bad the factory equipment is.

I plan on switching most of my system from my mustang into this yukon which includes the following;

2 sets of JL 6.5 components
Aftermarket single din (may buy a new one)
1 JL 10w6
1 JBL 700.1 amp for the sub
1 JBL 1004 amp for speakers

Here is my main question. Is it difficult to fit two 6.5's in the front doors? I know the bottom speaker is a 6.5, I assume that it wouldn't be difficult for the top hole to be trimmed to fit another 6.5.

I would add a pair of coaxles in the back doors and put the 10 in the trunk. I am also thinking about picking up two additional 10w6's that are for sale locally and building a box to fit three back there.

Thoughts, opinions?

Thanks!

You can fit dual 6.5" speakers in the front doors, but it takes a bunch of work. It's not quite big enough to fit the other 6.5.

How much is "a bunch"? I figured I would have to trim the door panel. Is there anything else?

Well that depends, are you trying to keep them behind the factory grills or not?

Yes, I would like them to be behind factory grills. I'm not sure what I can do with the tweeters though. I would like them to fit with the woofers in the factory location if they fit behind the grill.

See what they did there was cut out the whole face area behind the grill, built a wood baffle to house both woofers. Im just not sure how much mounting depth you have behind the grill where the top speaker is. I will be surprised if you can fit both woofers and 2 tweeters all behind the grill...

But cool looking forward to seeing this play out.
