03 Denali aftermarket install question

Hello everyone. I tried doing some searching to no avail.

I'm looking to replace the factory receiver in my denali. It's a Bose system.

I'm looking at getting an Alpine receiver and the GM adapter to enable the door chimes and what not.

My question is concerning the factory rear DVD system. How does this connect? Does it use standard RCA connections into the factory deck? I would like to still be able to hear the DVD over the factory speakers. The guy I chatted with at Crutchfield said there is no adapter for this and the only thing that will play the DVD sound is the headphones.

I'm guessing there has to be some sort of work around for this.

there are work arounds depending on what rear dvd unit you have, they are not easy, and are time consuming, the "easiest" is hardwiring a video cable from the aux input on the dvd to the back of the new head unit video in (if equipped)

Good luck, I'd be interested to see if you find any other work arounds, as I have the same issue. I want to be able to play a dvd in dash, and have the same thing play on the rear dvd

If I ran out of the DVD player through the AUX inputs though, i don't think it'd work. Considering the AUX inputs are inputs and not outputs.

I wonder what kind of connector the DVD player uses?

yeah it would just run whatever video is playing in the front to the rear unit.

OK, that makes sense.

I'm not looking to do a DVD in the front. Just a regular receiver. I guess I'd only want to be able to run the audio from the DVD to the front so it plays through the yukon's speakers.
