So my rear Defrost is not working at all same as my rear wiper. The wiper just makes a "click click click" sound when I turn it on but doesn't move at all.

This is what I'm using to test the defrost (VDC 20)

I get a reading around 8.0 all around the defroster grid (Left and Right tab) but its not heating up at all. On the front when I turn it on theirs a "click" sound as well as when I turn it off.

When I disconnect a tab and connect it again in front on the dash it says "rear door ajar" I plug it in again and remove it again and it does the sound thingy and says "rear door ajar" again.

On my Astro I repair the grid as some were broken one side I would get this big volt reading and on the other side of the crack I would get 0 but for the Tahoe it jumps around 8.0 and docent stay steady.

How can I troubleshoot this? Can some one check the reading on their working defroster?

Or just like in this post its all just a bad ground? I'm going to try this put a wire from the wiper motor the the door, that seem to fix the problem for many people here.

So because no one got to reply and needed a fix because it snowed today I ask my father if he could help me out. He ended up testing a bunch of things but the main thing is that with a regular light bulb tester the lines had 12V all the time with the defroster on, still they didn't heat up. He ended up telling me to add a wire to the driver side cable and run it to the frame of the door so this is what I ended up doing.

Defroster works perfectly now but still the rear wiper doesn't work. He said its a bad motor that I need to get it replaced so that's what I'm going to do.

Did you get the motor working With a new? I have that clicking sound too. And i blew My rear Window yesterday , a short in the passanger side connection on the glass i think. The strange is that the car was on My parking for hours and ignition off and rear defroster off. But who said electric problems where easy.
