03 Tahoe z71 running boards

My driver side running board is nice and tight but my passenger side is very soft when you step on it. There’s no rust but I believe the bolts on the top are missing maybe? It’s hard to see. Has anyone removed all the plastic cladding to access the running board mounts on a Z71?

I figured it out. There’s rivets under the plastic cladding. My passenger side has all the rivets broken off.

Thanks for the followup. With that being said, does the metal look good enough to replace the rivets?

Ya I think it is. I’m not sure why the factory rivets broke but from what I read it’s not uncommon for those to break off.
