A few months back a couple of the plastic rails in my sunroof assembly broke. From what I can tell, these were the guides that pushed the sunshade back automatically when opening the roof because after these broke the sunshade did not go back automatically anymore. This didn't bother me too much because it isn't a big deal to slide the shade back manually before opening the roof. Then a couple weeks ago driving through some canyons I thought it would be nice to open the roof. I hit the button and as the sunroof was almost fully open there was a slight snapping sound. About an hour later at my destination I tried closing the roof. It got about a half inch from closing all the way and then stopped. It still opens all the way to the back but wont close all the way. It gets to the point right before the back of the glass should pop up and create the seal. I tried re-synching the motor with instructions I found online but that did nothing. I found a service bulletin that shows this is a common problem. I'm not willing to pay the dealer a grand or so to fix this which is what I'm sure they would charge but at the same time I'd like to be able to close the roof. The wind noise going down the freeway is really annoying.
I read somewhere that GM sold a kit to fix the rails on these sunroofs because it was such a common problem. But the only kit I could find online was this one...

Does anyone know if this is the specific kit to fix the problem I'm having? If it's only $90 and some of my time to get it working again I'll take that deal all day long.
