ok experts, i need some help here.

Im sure im not the first to bring this up so please be gentle to an audio noob.

Ive been searching the forum and all over google all day trying to figure out how to add a hookup for my ipod to my yukon and really think ive just ended up more confused than when i started. Im not an audio guy at all, but lately, cd's are something i refuse to buy, and the radio is boring as hell. So i need my ipod on the truck.

Ive used a few different FM setups but they are all pretty terrible in a super HF/VHF heavy area like jacksonville.

I have an 04 Yukon with the bose setup and steering wheel controls, no XM or navigation or anything like that.

Im pretty mechanically/electrically competent, but im looking for the simplest way to get my ipod playing in my rig.

any help/suggestions are appreciated, thanks in advance.

well im not a real audiophile, but quality similar to the CD would be nice. I hated the low quality of the fm setups for sure though.

Are you set on keeping your factory head unit, or open to something aftermarket? And are you using an actual iPod, or an iPhone?

Using your existing factory headunit-you could use like a an ipod adaptor. I got mine from USASPEC. The ipod plays thru one of the XM stations. It comes with harnesses that plug thru the existing factory connections(basically piggyback off of them) and the sound quality is good...no worries of bad reception/static.

Really not interested in spending money on a new head unit, bose sounds good so i would like to keep it.

As for the piggyback method, i dont have XM so would it even work? I have no xm experience.

Does your head unit have buttons for XM? I don't subscribe to XM either. I also believe you can select it to play thru CD as well. I will have to look for the install manual tonite and see.....

Here is the one for an 04': http://usaspec.com/product.php?ProductID=24
