04 Z71 Tahoe with bad gas cap

I hope someone will be able to help me find the part number for a GM replacement cap. I had no idea there was so many different kind of caps made until I needed one, and of course I buy the wrong one. So how do I find the proper cap ? Please help !!

And tell us more about your rig: what engine, etc.

And what part number did you buy?

Go onto rock auto, they will have the OEM gas cap you need at a reasonable price even with shipping.

I have the 5.3 flex fuel

The cap I bought that does not fit (mine is threaded, not the notch like this cap) 95995094. I bought this cap from the internet without seeing the thread side, I had no idea there are so many different gas caps.
