So my white whale learned a new trick today.... while driving the engine just shuts down, no warning no lights just powers down. The dash lights stay off so it's not like the ignition was shut down, I can put it in neutral while coasting and all but one time she fired right back up, that one time I turned the key and it acted like the ignition was totally dead, I turned the key back to run then start again and dash lights came on and she fired right up... fuel is low, under 3 gallons but plenty to be running alright and I've run this truck many times for days with fuel low... (I live a half mile from my office) and never had this issue... I have time to do some snooping this weekend but I'd appreciate some ideas on where to dig... Thanks in advance.

Battery and ground connections. A few chasdos ground locations. I think frame under the battery, and an engine block one back by the firewall. Also, search for a couple recent threads on this, you're not the first. Did you hit a big pothole or anything?

No big potholes but a ground issue wouldn't surprise me. I was thinking about redoing all the grounds anyway so I guess this is a good reason to make time for that.
