Hello,

I'm having issues with my passenger side front door handle on my 07 Tahoe. It won't open from the inside or outside. I got the door panel off the best I could with the door being stuck shut. The cable on the handle was still intact but it felt sloppy with no pressure when you pull the lever. So I disconnected that cable from the handle and tried manually pulling on it... nothing. I then pulled the bottom window seal out so I could look inside the door with the window down and tried pressing on the door actuator moving parts and still it won't open. Is there a trick to doing this?

Thanks.

I had a bit of the same problem with my rear driver side door the other day. I also was able to get the door panel off with the door shut. My first issue was i needed to adjust the handle mechanism for the outside handle but when I went to put it back together found that the whole door actuator was pretty stiff and not working properly. Luckily, I was able to get the door panel off with the door shut and yanked hard/fast enough to get the actuator to work with the inside wire.

In your case if your able to get your hand in there and work the one of the two mechanisms that open the door from the inside or outside handle then spray some PB blaster in there or WD40 and hopefully the actuator will let loose while your messing with it.

Air hammer.

No like said above, reach in to the latch and there is a lever where the handle rod connects to. Push that down and it should pop open

This is a known problem according to my dealer. Take the window seal off the outside of the door and you'll get a good view of the door actuator. Like AppocAlexx said spray the mechanism down with a penetrant and it should start working again. I did this to mine nine months ago and it has worked flawlessly ever since. Best part is it didn't cost anything for this fix.
