07 Tahoe LTZ Air Compressor

So I have my Tahoe at a dealership (mistake I know). They replaced the air bags because they were leaking, which I knew. Know after replacing them the compressor is faulty also and not turning on at all. I do know for a while it was running frequently probably because of the leaking airbags.

How difficult is it to replace the air compressor? Do you have to set limits on the compressor or do they come preset? Is there anything to consider when changing it out? Recommendations so I don't run into problems in the future?

I am thinking about getting a buddy to help and take it to his work and put it on the lift and replace the compressor and the rear brakes at the same time as they are needed before PA inspection.

Just did mine on Saturday, pretty easy to do. I used the Arnott compressor and new dryer, I wouldn't go with a no-name product or you'll likely be doing it again soon. The compressor lives in a harsh environment. The Arnott comes with new desiccant to rebuild the dryer- essential if you'd driven for any period of time with the air bags torn since moisture will get in the system and damage the compressor. I just decided for the extra $49 to get a new dryer was worth it to protect the full system.

Only caution is to spray the three screws that hold the compressor to the chassis with a good rust breaker like Kroil (PB Blaster was worthless) or they WILL break off.... ask me how I know. What should have been a simple 1 hour job turned into 2 when I had to drill out the broken bolts.
