07 transmission problem

I have 07 4X tahoe 5.3 lt with 58k on it, the transmission just lost 3rd and 4th gear today.

I am assuming it has the 4l60e.

Is the 4l80e a direct swap?

I am seriously considering trading this thing after paying for the goddamn fix!

I bought it with 49k on it in Jan. of 2011, I put 9k on it in a year and a half and babied it the whole time!

Depends on what you mean by direct swap.

You will need a new crossmember to mount the bigger heavier 4l80, new wire harness, re program the computer for the 4l80 software, different yoke, new converter and that should be it. Prolly run you 4-5k depending on the cost of the tranny.
