Good afternoon all I started Saturday afternoon with the plan of replacing the upper control arms and lower ball joints on my Yukon it's now Sunday afternoon and all I was able to do was replace one upper control arm. Are there any tips and tricks out there to take out the old ball joint and install the new one, any and all help will be much appreciated...I'm trying to save my self twelve hundred dollars

You using a ball joint press to remove it? The Escalade has aluminum lower arms and not much meat for a ball joint kit to get a bite on the outside of the control arm (kept slipping off).

I ended up buying a cold chisel and attacking it from the side where the lip of the ball joint sits on the control arm. After a lot of banging, budging the ball joint up about 1/2" from the arm I was finally able to get the ball joint tool to work without slipping off.
