I have a '07 Yukon XL Denali with ~ 90k miles on it, runs great until this morning.

Here in NJ, it started snowing pretty good, I went to the store to pick up some items. Shut truck off, went inside, came back out, put key in ignition, turned it to start, heard the starter go click and the whole electrical system went dead.

Shut off key, tried it a few more times! NOTHING, Dead as door nail. Snowing like heck! :-(

I sat there for a few minutes, the ECM started to come back a bit, started showing a few things on the instrument display, all systems like Traction Control, Air bags, all showing a message that they were turned off.

Nice guy came out, tried to give it a jump start, no help. Seems like the battery is fine. Over the next 20-30 minutes some accessories started to come back, window went up/down, radio turned on, windshield wipers would work but only on high.

The truck was full of snow, wet all over. Got it towed home, put it in garage to let snow melt and dry over night.

Any suggestions? Could it be as simple as the starter or alternator? No previous indications, voltage on instrument panel was showing normal 13.5 to 14 volts.

I checked the fuses in the box under the hood on the drivers side, all the major ones looked fine. There is also some type of fuse over near the battery on the firewall that looks like it is high amperage. Assume this is fine, will check it in the morning with a volt meter.

Any suggestions on anything I could check?

I found the battery voltage very low, 5.6VDC. Replaced the battery, now 12.4VDC.

When I turn the key to the on position, instrument cluster comes up, still saying things like Stabilitrac not enabled, low WS wiper fluid (but full)?

Still won't engage the starter?

Need some help here quick, this is my only means of transportation and it's stuck in my garage.

Anyone?

Unhook your positive battery for awhile, let the system power down. Then hook it back back up.

Tried that yesterday, plus another key, checked all the fuses, all OK.

I had it flatbedded over to the GMC Service place late yesterday, This morning they checked it out and said the Body Control Module was bad.

They replaced it and say it rums fine now. I am going to pick it up in a few minutes.

Is this a regular type issue with these? I paid $657 to have it replaced.
