08 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid shuts off every 15/20 min

Noticed the ac was not blowing cool air and due to an injured arm my Nieghbor was checking the freon and said it was low and went to Autozone and got one of those cans to add some. Still no cool air. Drove it the next day and the vehicle was driving fine for about an hour then it shut off. Waited about 15/20 min and it started running again. Weird. So was driving it back home and it shut down every 30 mins or so then the vehicle just stopped running only to wait 15/20 min again till we got it home

need more info before even a guess.

mileage? history? did he remove any covers when accessing the ac ports? it's kinda hard to get to the low side fitting without removing a cover and the covers all have safety plugs in them. they will disable the vehicle if it doesn't make good connections. does it show any warnings when it shuts down?


if there's no codes, lights or warnings on the dash or scanner. only thing I can think of could be a fuel pump going bad. these things throw codes if the wind blows the wrong direction haha.

you'll need to do some basic trouble shooting to find out whats what.
