08 denali Bilstein hd shocks

Hi,today i had replac the stock front shocks with the Bilstein hd shocks my denali is lowered by ground force lowering 1.5 front 2.5 rear with stock shocks when replaced the front stock shocks with Bilstein shocks the car lift for about 2 " ,so what was wrong ?

When i do the first instal there i install a part look like a ring this part were stopping the shock to go lower i remove it and it gose back to normal .

Agreed Conor, I want to know what was the actual issue too.
I think the means he installed the lower mount ring upside down, so basically there was an extra 1" or more of ride height.
