08 Denali Driver side mirror dismantle

Hi Everyone,
Is there an easy way to take the mirror apart to check and see if there are any broken parts inside?

My drivers side mirror won't fold in, I can hear the motor turning so I'm worried something is broken. Also, I just noticed yesterday that the mirror was defrosting when I turned the defrost on.

Basically I'm just looking to troubleshoot the mirror to see if there is a way I can fix it myself. Thanks for any help/insight on this!

push the mirror down (like you're looking at the street)
pull the top part of the mirror straight back
4 bolts hold that motor
pull/push the back plastic part of the housing off (the one that's chrome or colormatched)

That will basically have everything apart that I know of...
