08 GMC Yukon Denali brake light problem.

rear driver side brake light stopped working,
got pulled over for driver side brake light don't know how long it was out, but checked bulb and it was good. then unplugged assemble and switched passenger assemble with driver side same thing. so put them back on original side and started messing with connector then brake light flashed on. looked at the connector dosnt look like any damage to it. after messing with it I noticed the running lights went out on the front driver side. wondering if these two problems are connected?

Probably, check your wire connections including fuses. These wirins get old and brittle...

I found the problem it was a bad fuse.
I didn't realize there is a fuse for driver side and another one for passenger side. just assumed they were both on same fuse. thanks all for all the great ideas.
