Friend is selling a 08 Tahoe LTZ, 140,000 miles, asking 11,000 for it. Because of the dod/afm issues should I run? Currently the vehicle does not have any real issues, he does have to add oil occasionally but not very often. Not looking for another P.O.S lemon but seems like it might be a good deal????

Not necessarily. If it's really clean and $11,000 is a deal, you may wanna jump on it if you like it. I bought my nearly-mint '08 LTZ almost 2.5 years ago with 147,000 miles on it. The $15,250 I paid was a pretty solid deal compared to what everything else in much worse condition was selling for. It's currently at 192,000 and runs smooth and strong. I had the AFM disabled through a tune almost a year ago. I get a lifter tick for about 2 seconds on a cold start, but that may not even be AFM related. There's a $10 valve in the oil filter boss that may be the culprit. I consistently drain about 3 ounces of oil from my catch can at every oil change, which I do every 5,000 miles. GM has an updated valve cover that helps with the oil consumption issues. Between the updated valve cover and disabling or deleting AFM, it may never use any more oil.
