So I just bought a Kenwood DMX-8709S. From best best open box and all the supporting cables from Crutchfield (the most I could buy). I have the flip down tv in the back. With Bose factory. My question. My head unit in the back has AV composite in, and HDMI in, plus the center console has the normal composite in.

My plan is to install the Roku permanently if possible so we can stream movies for my son.

1.) if I install the Roku in the back center console inputs, does the Roku play on the TV only while I can play what I want from the head unit?

2.) if I install the Roku directly to the back of the head unit, does the Roku then run the head unit AND the TV in the back? Same thing both places?

Want to make sure understand how the Roku works in our Tahoes. I don’t think I’ll ever need to make the tv in the back and the head unit up front indepent of each other, but I’d rather not have the Roku constantly sitting there plugged in where people can kick it. I am planning to put it in the dash behind the head unit.

Thanks for the help

Some audio guys will chime in. I’m sure there’s a way around it but my rig only shows in the back unless I’m in park. As for mounting, can you get to the backside of the console and tap in from inside to make your connection?
