has anyone put in a newer navigation on 2001 to 2006 Yukon Denali? is it even posible

not possible. completely different system/wiring/etc

The problem with a lot of this stuff is its tied in through the can bus data line so lots of components aren't gonna be compatible from different years and such. Then they tie in stuff like xm radio, door chimes, bcm functions etc and its a nightmare.
