Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone out there knows if there are any high performance intake manifolds and/or throttle bodies available for a 2010 5.3 Tahoe. The only one I've seen is the FAST manifold but I'm not trying to shuck out a thousand bucks for an intake.

I've heard of people taking intake manifolds off Camaro's and Trailblazer Super Sports and throwing them on Tahoe's, as well as some using larger throttle bodies from Corvettes as well, although nobody lists specifics; where to buy, what exactly is interchangeable with what, etc.

Seems I would need the input from someone who's successfully done this before or someone who is extremely knowledgeable in the Chevy motor arena. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any other mods? JUST having a bigger/different manifold isn't going to do anything for you...

I've done a few things so far. Cold air intake, JBA headers, Flowmaster super 40 muffler, BB Tune, Snow water/meth injection system. All those mods have turned my Tahoe into a rocket, however I'm trying to get a larger intake manifold and throttle body on it.

I would recommend a nitrous cam before a manifold/TB swap. You would get a LOT more power out of it. These manifolds and TBs flow SOO much from the factory. If you want more than just the cam do some head work. Before I did my cam I was thinking about doing the manifold swap and boring out my TB.

We have the same mods minus the meth and I love my cam. My mods have given me about a hundred RWHP over stock.

I believe tony has a ported out throttle body. I'm sure he will chime in when he sees this thread.

I'd love to do a cam but I just don't want to go that intrusive, it is the lady's DD. I'm just trying to do all the easy bolt on stuff I can, the drivetrain is still under warranty. If there's an issue I can pull the CAI and the meth hoses off but it'll difficult to get anything warrantied if they know the engine has been reworked. As soon as the warranty expires trust me I'm goin balls out but until then I gotta keep it humble. Manifold and TB are easy change outs "if needed".

I agree with the cam. At the stage your at not much in the line of easy bolt in and off parts going to satisfy you. You can always just save up for a blower.

I just can't justify the price vs gains of a manifold and TB. Even if you do a blower you'd want to put a proper cam in lol.

Wouldn't bother with either. Cam and FI would be the best direction.
