Question:

My 2012 Tahoe LTZ 4x4 5.3L Flex Fuel with 47k miles seems to be having some issues. It does not seem to have the power that it should. I have a 2011 Chevy Crew Cab LTZ with the same engine and the truck has way more power. The Tahoe seems to get sluggish at low rpm's. A good example would be going up a hill and when i step on the gas a little it is not responsive until you get the engine to kick down hard. There are no codes being thrown and no lights are on. I did run and drive the vehicle for a bit before putting on the MAF sensor (body shop and frame guy had it this way before the K & N kit/MAF were installed).

Here is what I have done.
1. Swapped out spark plugs and wires
2. Removed the resonator and replaced with a straight pipe and black tip
3. Had the catalytic converters checked and they are fine
4. K & N Cold air kit (71-3070 Blackhawk Kit)
5. New MAF sensor
6. Transmission was also looked over by a transmission shop
7. 22" Rims (not that this really makes a difference...just figured more info the better)

Now the Tahoe has been wrecked but everything checks out fine. Any suggestions would be welcomed!

So then no point in even adding a cold then...just better off staying with a stock intake. That sucks. Does yours di the same with the Airaid intake?

Its not going to make a lot of power at low RPMs. And with that 6 speed, youre gonna have to get it to drop down before you notice some good pickup. Get a blackbear tune, it will open it up.

Well I replaced the k&n cold air with the stock parts and the initial results is that the k&n was causing the problem. This resulted in allowing the computer to read the correct shift points. It was down shifting at the correct points and did not loose the power. I will update more after driving for a few more days.

well it is still running much better. Is there any reprogramming that I should have done to it in order to get the rest of the responsiveness back? The Tahoe is a wrecked one and I did move it around without it having the MAF Sensor installed. Plus the butterfly were moved when the intake was off so I have read that can also cause issues.
