I know theres been tons of threads lately for this but I finally found one and I want to know if I should jump on it. I think the price is a little steep and the gears are wrong.

I intend to put this into a Chevy 1500 Regular Cab Short Bed 4x4
when I pick it up, not my tahoe as its not what I want my performance vehicle to be.

Heres the add :

chevy 14bolt SF rear end, 6 lug 4.88 yukons jusr rebuilt with detriot locker, perfect upgrade for a weak ten bolt $800.

Shoulda posted this in Suspension dangit... Sorry Admins.

Sounds good, but are you planning to lift the truck and or run larger tires? If not that is going to be WAY too much gear for stock sized tires. Also I would not recommend running a locker for a DD, it's going to be ******* the drive line, and give you trouble in rain, snow, and turns. But many people run them in DD w/ no problems as well. If this is an OBO sale try offering 600 bucks, but if he really has a full rebuild in the axle then it's worth the 800 that he's asking.

Well 99Coop my plan for the pickup is a 4 inch lift. That's right 4 inches.. Not 6 inches I know what I'm sayin ha. So I'd prefer the gear ratio to be more around 4.10 / 4.56. So maybe I should just hold off and wait for something else to come around.. What chu think? Yeah I really didn't want to run a detroit either...
