I have a 1994 Yukon with 53k miles (yes, original) that is having problems chugging and lurching really bad. It usually only starts to happen after 2000rpms and makes it very difficult to accelerate. It also nearly dies at idle after it has been running for more than a few minutes.

This video doesn't show how bad it chugs and lurches but you get the idea from looking at the needle. Any ideas what this might be?

Thanks to everyone who responded.

A mobile mechanic came and looked at it, and determined it was a ignition control module. The distributor cap went bad and caused it to fail. He replaced it both of those parts and its back to good as new.
