How the heck do you check the fuel pressure on this truck? No port to plug a gauge into.

So far we have found a clogged cat, bad plugs(did a full tune up), changed the fuel filter. It will not rev passed 3k. Its running really poorly as in no power. It did have a code 44 in it before I repaired the above issues.

Why does the tahoe and the yukon have a higher fuel pressure with the same engine and injectors as the same year suburban?

Thinking the fuel pump is bad but I need to check it out before I replace it. Don't have money to just blow on a part that I dont need.

I believe there's a tool for this that you can rent at the auto parts store...

I don't think it's your pump I don't think it would run at all if it was the pump. Could be the regulator.

LOL ... my pump had 8 volts and was putting out about 9 PSI and it ran ...

You can cut the feed line with a tube cutter from the Auto parts store and get some hose, gauge and adapter. I got my setup from Summit Racing and used some Jegs 3/8ths push lock hose that I had laying around. There is a tool ACTRON CP7817 that can check it but none of my local places had it or could get it.

Wow 9psi huh? I think for that year it supposed to be in the high 40's can't remember off the top of my head tho, I've seen a lot that had 35 psi and wouldn't run at all.

unknown at this time.
1995 4*4 should be 9-13 psi igntion on engine off. You tap into the fuel pressure with a t-tap on the outlet of fuel filter with a J 29658 or equivalent tool.

Thanks yall. The truck has a tbi in it so fuel pressure should be 13 to 19 psi and the vortec engine has the 40 to 60psi from what I have been told. Gonna remove the fuel filter and tie in a gauge and filter with hose and a T fitting for testing only. I will let yall know what I find. Thanks for the info.

Fuel pressure should be between 57-64 psi. Get a fuel pressure guage with the shraider valve adapter, screw it in, connect the guage and record your readings

Correction:
Oops, forgot you had a 95', tbi should be between 25-35 psi. I'll check Alldata tomorrow to double check.
