1995 yukon speed sensor issue

What would cause my speedo to sometimes lag on take-off from a stop and not letting the transmission to shift out of gear?? And also where is the speed sensor located at?? All help is welcome..

if 2wd it will be located above and behind the main harness wiring connector for the tranny on the left side. It does sound like that is your issue.

on the 4wd it will aslo be on the left hand side but on the back end of the tcase rear output.

The speed sensor in a 95 4L60E is at the back of the tranny in the tailshaft.

How far down are you pressing the peddle on take off, if it's at 100% it may not be ready to shift when you come to the conclusion that it's not ready to shift.
