A friend had a intake manifold leak, antifreeze, that was discovered too late on his 2000 Tahoe It has developed a death knock. We have found a 5.7 vortec engine complete out of a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado. My question is will it work, of course changing intake manifold, necessary accessories, etc. The engine is a low mileage unit and the price is right. Any differences in the flywheel, knock sensors, ignition, or little things? Thanks

it should swap right over but you will likely need to move the flywheel from the 2000 to the 1996 engine because of a change in the torque converter.
