Hello! New to the Yukon world. I just picked a 1996 GMC Yukon SLT 4x4 w/ 232k miles. Runs smooth. Transmission, well that is gone. I found one on FB marketplace but its out of a 2003 GMC Yukon.

Can anybody in here accurately tell me what all is needed to mate the LS 03 trans to the 96 LT1 engine? Does anybody make a "kit" for this?

I tried searching the forums first, but couldn't locate a matching topic...

Thank you!

Welcome to the Yukon world.

Different animal. Yours is a previous generation truck with a different engine, electronics and systems design. The integration work of the electronics alone would be prohibitive. In my opinion, you'd be better off going to car-part.com and finding a transmission from a 1996, or better yet, have yours rebuilt by a good local transmission shop that gets good reviews on Google Maps.

Also, you posted in the 2021 section so perhaps one of the moderators can move this to the correct section where you'll get more help.
