1997 engine swap

Hi all, I have a 2000 8.1 that has never been installed. I am looking to swap it into my 1997 4wd Tahoe. I can use some help in what I will need for the motor mounts. and electric hook ups.
Any help would be awsome

Do you have the entire engine, tranny and harnesses including the pcm?

The big and small blocks have the same motor mount bolt pattern. the motor will bolt in place, you might have to modify your trans cross member and adjust the length of your drive lines. then it will be a matter of wiring, exhaust other systems...fuel, water, ac, ps.
Does the 8.1 use a distributor or separate coil packs? if it has a dist, it might be a little tight with the firewall. if no dist, then you should be ok.

The 8.1 is losely based on the ls foremat it is coil pack. I wanted to know how to make the electrical hookups .Like computer ans such.

are you planning on trying to use the ECM from the old 5.7?

contacted Painless wirering They can not help. I tried speartech waiting for reply now.

So what specifically do you need. I don't have the time myself to remap your wiring system and integrate both controllers. But I can email some pin-out sheets and diagram if you want to attempt it yourself.
