I just bought a 97' yukon recently and it needs a new lower intake gasket possibly the upper intake gasket too is that hard to do

not bad if you are semi mechanical. You'll need to pull complete upper portion of FI, and intake and replace gaskets. Common issue on this body style.

i have a 96 hoe and it took me about 4 hrs to replace my injectors but i have never done that job before

If need to replace the lower intake gasket like most people for a coolant leak then you don't need to go into the upper plenum at all and would leave it alone. The lower intake on vortechs are only bolted on with 8 bolts and the hardest part of the job is the lifting in and out of the intake-can get heavy while lining up to go back on without disturbing the gasket.(leave out the end pieces of rubber and use ultra grey rtv 1/4" bead) also you will need a inch pound torque wrench.
