1999 chevy tahoe tranny issues

Hey ya'll,
My tahoe is shifting rough from 3rd to 4th and from 4th to 3rd. I mean really rough to where the whole truck jerks and shudders. It honestly sounds like the trany is going to fall out. There are no problems from first gear all the way to third gear. It shifts just fine. Also, i know the owners manual says to flush the tranny fluid every 50k miles; mine is sitting at a little over 70k original miles. Should i still have it flushed? I was told at my local shop not to have it done because the tranny will more than likely crap out. This doesnt make any sense to me..... I need some help!

never seen an obs manual that says it need to be flushed. just a pan drop and filter. and even then it depends on your driving habits. if you are getting shuddering it is likely the clutch is chattering real bad during shifting if there is a pressure drop at the same time you have worn clutch pack. if both gear fails completely you can manually select one or two to keep the vehicle moving. if this is your problem a fluid change wont help. you can get a tear down inspection done but if you find one clutch bad the whole shebang has to be done so be prepared.

Catching up on this thread. I didn't realize this was posted in 2012! I finaly got the Tahoe to the states; picked her up from the port this past Friday so I'm able to get real work done on it. I just got back from a local auto shop and the mechanic says its not running right which is probably throwing the sensors off in the tranny. I'm taking it in on Wednesday so he can troubleshoot and hopefully fix it. I'll keep yall filled in...

Got the transmission fixed. Going to be taking back to the shop to get some front end work done; hopefully it will eliminate the crazy vibration and shaking when I hit 65+ on the highway. I'll keep this thread updated...
