I have a 1999 Tahoe Lt 2 door I got for a good price. It has some gremlins inside that I need to work out,
When ever I'm driving at certain times the interior lights will come on for no reason then go right off very annoying especially at night while driving. I have replaced the headlight switch. Both door switches hoping this would fix the problem. It is still doing it. The only switch that I have not replaced is on the rear hatch. So I'm thinking about replacing that one. If that is not it what else could it be? A loose ground? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

does the going on then off time change or does it always turn off at a fixed length of time after lighting up?

I do have the same issues but never got the time to look into it. I was told that the positive wire to the batteries needs to be changed (I don't think so)

The lights tethers (on-off) quickly while driving and if I remember correctly, I think its during rough driving only.

i forgot to ask do you have a light defeat button on the headlight switch and, with the door open, do they come on with the button out and turn off after a delay of pushing the button back in or do they go out right away?

I was testing it earlier and actually the light is not functioning correctly anymore ... It only flashes (on/off) when I slam the door hard ... only lights (flashes ones and turns off) when I slam door correctly

then somewhere the switch contact for them are broken it some way. run that rheostat dimmer wheel all the way to low and see if that changes it a bit.

based on your info it sounds like the headlight switch assembly is at fault or a rare chance of a powered wire and the interior load wire are rubbing together.
