I just purchased a 99 Tahoe a couple of months ago and have noticed a few quirks. Anytime a make a sharp turn like in a parking garage the steering wheel won't return to center. Instead once when you reach a certain point the steering wheel will turn to the maxed out position. This position will also cause the front tires to chirp or squeal. I had a front end shop take a look at it and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Is this normal? The Tahoe does turn very sharp. If it's not normal are there some things I can look for?

While I'm here I also have codes P0304 and P0430. They came on this past weekend as I was going up a long grade. They came up twice. I cleared the codes and they haven't come back on. I live in a flat area, so I haven't had to pull any long grades since I cleared them.

I think the steeing issue may be normal but have to check on some stuff. I could swear the wheels turn like the old Mercedes did where the inbound wheel turn much more and tilts. Of course mine does have other issues as well. P0304 means you have an almost continuous misfire in cylinder 4. P0430 means your catalytic converter for the right bank is worn out and is no longer able to clean the exhaust. it must be replaced but solve the misfire first. It is what most likely kill the cat to begin with.
