Hello all, I am new to the Yukon forum.

I have already swapped the Np246 to a Np241 with very few issues. Still havent cut the hole in the floor for the shifter (something to do later) and the rest of the car is COMPLETELY bone stock except the rear driveshaft u-joint.

I would like to swap the slush-0-matic 4L60E with a stick. I know of a few transmissions such as the NV3500 and 4500 series trannies, but that form of swap is quite expensive.

Is there any other 5 speed, or more inexpensive stick set-up I can put in the Yukon? I would like to keep the 241 if possible but not necessary.

Any help is appreciated. CAR

Simply put, the NV3500 is the stock 1/2 ton transmission in GM pickups and is ok as long as you don't put a lot of stress on it. The NV4500 used to be the holy grail for all around goodness on and off road. These two trannies will prolly be the cheapest and easiest auto to manual swaps there are for your truck. Find a junkyard truck with the tranny you want and start swapping parts until you have what you want. If you bought the tranny and an install kit, yes it is a lot of money, but you'll save a lot with a boneyard find. Best of all, you can keep your motor and t-case as both trannies have been factory installed with both. You'll need a new driveshaft though.
