1st gear "grinding" Help no idea

So I was driving like I always do normal and I did a stop and then accelerated but if felt as if something had grab the SUV from the back and then the SUV was pulling to get away from it then right away there was a loud sound as of something breaking like a loud "bang" and then it started ti make this like "crank crank crank" noises. Drove it back home like that seems to be only 1st gear. second sometimes does it too but other time like nothing. if I don't let the transmission fall to 1st it drives all normal.

Maybe I need the transmission redone for 1st gear? About how much would it cost? its 4x4

any Ideas or tips?

what you describe sounds like number 12 of the top 4l60e problems

12.Car goes into gear but feels very sluggish like the brakes are dragging, but it will roll easily (starts out in 4th gear), you manually shift to 2 to get it moving, once it's moving you put it back in OD and the car shifts 3rd to 4th on its own and locks the converter at the appropriate time: ShiftB solenoid failed: A wiring problem from PCM to transmission or PCM.
