1st Highway trip..........

Took first trip in the Yukon from Atl to Bristol and all was great except the 3.08's suck!!!!!!!!! I wasn't really concerned with the tow package as I have a 3/4 diesel for pulling duty so I figured the higher gears would be ok on anything bigger than a slight grade the dagumb thing would drop a gear and I had to mat it to pass anyone. Guess I should have gone on a longer test drive down the highway. Anyone else feel the same or am I crazy? Love everything else about the truck, the ride is phenomenal!!!

Got an 07 or 08 loaner with the 4 speed and 3.73's and it defiantley feels like a better set up. I was looking around and it doesn't look like 3.73's are a factory option anymore? What are the opinions of the 3.42's if sticking with stock size tires? This is my wife's dd for the 2 year old and twins That are on the way.

I have 31" tall tires, with the 4 speed 4L60e, and swapped to 4.11's...if you want to change to 3.73's, may be easier to just buy a R&P set.( I had 3.42's)

You are not crazy. I test drove a few and after driving one with 4.10s, the lower gears felt sluggish. Needless to say, I bought the one with 4.10s.
