2/4 drop to 3/5

Hey guys. I picked up a 11 XL Denali in October and like everything else I get my hands on I can't leave well enough alone. I installed a 2/4 drop (norcall ss), debadged the rear and a few other odds and ends within the first couple days of ownership and haven't stopped since.
I have a few major upgrades planned for this upcoming spring and summer with wheels - Chrome KMC slides - being the first once winter breaks which leads me to my current decision. Is it relatively simple, parts and cost wise, to go from a 2/4 drop to a 3/5? Can anyone tell me what parts are needed? Can I just purchase a few items or do I need to scratch my 2/4 and start over?
I ask because I'm deciding between my current 2/4 drop with 24" wheels vs. changing to a 3/5 drop with 22" wheels. After putting a few thousand miles on a 2/4 drop with o.e. 20's and the factory 275 rubber I've come to really like the ride in terms of comfort, just not 100% satisfied with the drop/wheel combo. I'm leaning towards 22's vs the 24's because I feel like the 22's will give me a better all around ride, but then to satisfy my drop craze I'm going to need to go to a 3/5; however, if I purchase 24's I'm pretty sure I'll be content with the current 2/4 drop.

IMO I think you should go 3/5 with 24s. I think with it being a xl the 24s will really look good especially with a 3/5 on it. As far as going to a 3/5 you'll probbaly need new coils for the rear and for the front you could probably do Tony's strut mod to get that extra inch you want

2) in rear you will need
my custom springs 225
rear djm hardware kit and new bumsptops for free travel mod which is 190 shipped
rear spohn panhard bar 135 shipped

Would he really need the camber kit for just 3"? Just wondering cause I was able to go 4-4.5" before I needed one. Is it different from nbs to nnbs?

yes differetn if he has the new belltech 2511 spindles then he can get away but with the trucks i do nnbs at 3 inch level your camber is at -.8 about after the kit without a camber kit. also many trucks I do the upper a arm bushings are all cracked so might as well change it out

oh another thing you will notice the lower you go the rear gets pushed forward so looks like a 94-96 impala ss. On my 305 35 24 on big dips would rub the front of the wells at times. This is why I ended up doing the upper/lower a arms. I set the uppers 1/2 inch longer than stock and the lowers 5/8 longer then stock to give a better pinion angle. That ended up also pushing the axle in the fenderwell backwards which looks 10x better. Also the driveshaft isnt pushed into the trans as much

I agree that 24s on a 3/5 would look :fuckyea: I've just never ran that low a profile tire on a daily driven suv and have concerns about to much of a downgrade in overall ride quality. I've been known to do something and then completely toss it aside and start over if I'm not satisfied and A change from 24s to 22s is a pretty costly redo. That's half my tvs budget.

I need to find someone with a drop and 24s willing to take me for a ride.

Those 26s are sweet! Are they available chrome in 24s? Your ride with a 3/5 and 24s looks perfect imo.


I have the djm endlink kit and your bumpstops in the rear. Am I understanding you correctly that there is a additional djm kit I need to purchase from you?

22's look SMALL

That seems to be the consensus! Sadly, I haven't noticed one lowered XL anywhere in my area around Baltimore to compare too :shocked:

no problem. if you do 24 inch reps i carry them all and save money over our ebay adds
